The Best Version of Me

I could see rainbows

Anytime that I wanted

It’s always raining in this town

But I ignore windows

Who said I’m an artist

I can’t be bothered to look around

The birds chirp, the wind blows

There’re flowers in the gardens

But all I see are bugs by the door

The summer inferno

Is probably beautiful

It’s only me who misses the cold

You bet

I’m a big, warm hug

You protect

The best version of me in your heart

How am I strength you lean on

When I get all of my ideas from demons

I am hell

You’re the one who brings us heaven

You’re the one who makes us

I hold on by a small thread

To hope that I’m wanted

It’s been years since I had good friends

If I can’t give up yet

If I’m just getting started

I grow fears that this, too, will end

I hang on, they let go

I never get the signals

Until I crash and burn

If most people

Are open and vocal

Why do I never learn

You bet

I’m a big, warm hug

You protect

The best version of me in your heart

How am I the comfort you love

When I am just an unstable rock

And I fell

You’re the one who makes us, oh

You’re the one who makes us

I crawled out of my shell

And I lay my heart bare

I don’t ever want to let you down

Don’t call me an angel

You’re the one I swear

Who’s keeping us afloat right now

The summer inferno

Might be brighter than gold

But you’re the one who makes the world glow

You bet

I’m always sweet and kind

You let

Me be the best version when I

Depend

So much on your smile

I can’t

Tell you enough that you’re why

I can be the best version of me

You said

That we are all beautiful

You are

The one who makes me human after all

You’re the one who makes us

My star

The one who makes us beautiful

You’re the one who makes us

You get

The big, warm hugs out of me

You make the best

You make the best version of me
