What does Superman have that I don’t

Who needs flight and speed of light anyway

It’s not a villain with a scary face

That I need to fight

Not when the person with the scary mind is me

 

I’m not even a minor threat to society

My demise would be in the form of

Jumping off of building tops

No, there’s no reason to be afraid of me

 

I have no friends to care

To turn to whether or not I go

My family is another burden on my heart

No one in the world can understand

There’s no one left to take my hand

And save me from my thoughts, from the dark

 

Nobody I know wants to sit down and listen

Or even try to get a grip on what’s going on

I’m not bad

I’ll do for myself what I can

 

But if I’m asking for a hero

I think I’ve found one in you

 

You could have been doing absolutely anything else

In most opinions I’m just a waste of time

Ask anyone I used to know

And they will tell you, too

My personality’s a little too much on the strong side

 

Yet here you sit ever so patiently

Taking in my every word, my every cry

I’ve never felt so at ease to speak my mind

As when I’m with you

No matter the problem

You always make me feel alright
